Boundless friendship in Barcelona: elderly, children, and immigrants partying together

During these days of Catalonian summer heat, in the city of Cervera, situated between Lleida and Barcelona, friends of Long Live the Elderly, of the Rainbow Country, and the Peace People movements, have come together and pooled their resources. On a shared holiday, children, adolescents – among whom many gypsy youth – elderly and young immigrants have enjoyed a "cultural" visit to the ancient city, famous for its university, its city hall and the Church of Santa Maria.
It’s the togetherness of a real family; age doesn’t matter compared to bonds of friendship and affection, and each finds something within themselves to offer to the others. As Petra announced at the end of her holiday with the elderly folk: "I am the Dove of Peace of the Community of Sant’Egidio. And you are part of my family. Wherever I went, you were there to greet me. I know that you will not abandon me".
