Prayer of the Holy Cross

Standing near the Cross of the Lord Jesus
Were his Mother, Mary, and her sister,
Mary of Clopas and Mary Magdalen
Jesus looked on them and on the disciple he loved.

Jesus said to his mother
"Woman, this is your son"
And to the disciple he said
"This is your mother".

Blessed is the Lord, alone on the Cross,
Who does not forget humanity
And finds them a mother and a home
In his love and in his mercy.
