Memory
of those who live and die on the road It
was January 31st 1983. That morning, in the Termini Station in Rome, a
homeless woman, visibly suffering, didn't receive any aid for 4 long hours
because she was too dirty. She died before arriving at a hospital. Modesta
Valenti was 71 years old. A difficult life had brought her from Friuli to
Rome. Dedication of a sculpture at Termini Stationedicazione di una scultura alla Stazione Termini 31st
January, 11.30 a.m. at the Bookshop of rail 24 has been unveiled a statue
by the artist Ottavio Sgubin and has been inaugurated an exhibition of
paintings dedicated to the homeless people. Liturgy in Santa Maria in Trastevere On
2nd February, 12.00 a.m., in memory of Modesta and of all those
people who have died this year on the streets a liturgy has been
celebrated inteh roma basilica of st.Maria in Trastevere.
