The Community of Sant’Egidio of Pader, North Uganda, has organized a distribution of food and essential items to the elderly people living in the refugee camp of Pajule, set up during the war that has been striking the region for 22 years.

About 2000 people live in the camp, many of them are elderly of orphans. The conditions are particularly severe for lack of food.

The presence of the Community in the refugee camp represents a message of peace and reconciliation, starting from solidarity with the poorest and from an alliance among youth and elderly, in order to build a common future without war.
