 per salvare la vita di Troy Davis ,
condannato a morte

Scrivo la mia profonda preoccupazione in merito alla sentenza che ha condannato a morte il sig. Troy Davis, nonostante la mancanza di prove concrete, come l’arma del delitto, che non è stata mai trovata, la ritrattazione della quasi totalità delle testimonianze, la ammissione di pressioni dei testimoni da parte della polizia, la negazione di un appello alla corte federale che potesse giudicare sull’affidabilità di tali testimonianze, e la emersione di successive prove che lo avrebbero scagionato.

Vi esorto ad intervenire affinché sia scongiurata tale crudele e disumana punizione.

Vi imploro perché tale crudele e disumana sentenza non venga eseguita.

 Urgent appeal brought out by the Community of Sant’Egidio
 to save the life of Troy Davis,
sentenced to death

Your Excellencies I am writing to express my deep concern over a ruling that sentenced to death Mr. Troy Davis, despite the lack of physical evidences, like the murder’s weapon, which was never found, the recantation of almost all the witnesses’ testimonies, the witnesses’ admission of having received pressures by the police, the denial of an appeal to the federal court, which could have judged on the reliability of such testimonies, and the emersion of new evidences which could have absolved him.

I urge you to intervene on his behalf to prevent this cruel and inhuman punishment from being meted out against him.

I implore you to ensure that this cruel and inhuman sentence is not carried out.
