Ministers of Justice and important government officials more than 30 states will gather on the 17th and 18th of May in Rome on the initiative of the Community of Sant'Egidio to discuss the latest progress of the campaign to abolish the death penalty in the world and to develop new strategies for the forthcoming UN General Assembly vote on the third resolution on a universal moratorium.
The Congress that takes place two years after the extraordinary success of last approval, with 106 countries in favor, 46 against and 34 abstentions, is the confirmation of an relentless trend towards justice for life, the result of a great synergy with Italy in the first-line- of an international global alliance, with the considerable contribution of the Community of Sant'Egidio.
