Cameroon: Growing effort to let the life in prison be more humane
After the interventions in the prisons of Maroua and Douala, mattresses and basic hygiene items were distributed in Mbalmayo, in the South, during the month of April, and in Gaoura, just a few days ago. The conditions there are horrible: almost all the 150 prisoners have scabies, due to the lack of basic hygienic conditions. To improve it, the Community also organised training on health education: after that, a group of prisoners were put in charge of controlling the health conditions. The exercise is run every day.
