The Community of Sant'Egidio expresses its outrage and strongly condemns the executions of six people of different nationalities, accused of drug trafficking, which took place in Indonesia last night, despite repeated calls that came from a large part of the Indonesian and international civil society.
The Community of Sant'Egidio too had addressed to the government of Jakarta demanding to cancel the executions and proposing "a profound rethinking of the use of the death penalty, because the state's commitment in the fight against crime and evil in society does not need this terrible.
