A delegation of the Community of Sant’Egidio, with Marco Impagliazzo, visited Montenegro to meet the President Filip Vujanovic in Podgorica.
A number of topics were covered during the meeting, such as the dialogue among religions and cultures, the cohabitation in the Balkans and the peace in the world. They discussed the role of Montenegro in Europe, in particular to stabilize the Balkans.
The President Vujanovic gave his thanks to the Community for its work for peace and the Meetings in the Spirit of Assisi. He accepted the invitation to the next Meeting in Munich.
The delegation also met the Minister for Foreign Affair to define in details the next ratification of the agreement between the Community and Montenegro, and to frame collaboration for cooperation in Africa. Other meetings were held with religious and administrative authorities in Cattaro and the old capital Cetinje, where the major favourably agreed to take part to the initiative “Cities for Life”.
