GUATEMALA. Aid is sent from San Salvador to the drought-ridden region of Alta Verapaz

On account of a prolonged period of drought, the region of Alta Verapaz is suffering from a serious famine. There have already been a number of deaths, particularly amongst the young and the elderly. The Community of Sant’Egidio in San Salvador has started to send aid.
