The Community of Sant'Egidio welcomes with satisfaction the recent developments for pacification of the Korean peninsula and strongly encourages all the parties involved to continue on the path of dialogue, the only possible way to secure the future of the region, towards a decisive reconciliation awaited for decades.
For years the Community of Sant'Egidio has been close to the North Korean population by sending humanitarian aid, medicines and health tools.
In the coming months, in co-operation with Coldiretti, a further humanitarian mission is planned to support the weakest of the population.
