Who helps and who is helped? "When young people come to see me, they bring light, but I can also be a sort of therapy for them," says Violetta, an elderly woman who lives in a care home. "I actually felt like I was important," echoes Laura, from the Youth for Peace movement.

In Genoa and in many other cities of the world, for the youngsters of Sant'Egidio the elderly are rather special friends. They can give affection and lessons in humanity: "The color doesn't matter, the heart is what really counts”. An encounter breaking down walls, creating an alliance between generations and making you feel important at all ages.
