A NEW HOUSE IN THE COMMUNITY OF LOMÉ

On Saturday, January 16, the new house of the Community of Sant'Egidio in Lome (Togo) was inaugurated with a beautiful assembly, which brought together more than 200 friends from the different communities in the city. Representatives from the communities of other cities in the country and a delegation from Benin even participated in the event.
After some work, the House will soon be opened to the reception of street children in order to offer a space of rest and friendship to the many juveniles who are living alone on the streets of the city.
The theme "The Christmas of Mercy is a Starting Point to Change the World with the Gospel and with the Poor" led the communities in Togo to express their joy and willingness to live this Jubilee Year of Mercy with a personal commitment. This engagement is focused on friendship with the poor and on communicating the Gospel to many young people.
