CAMEROON: SANT’EGIDIO DELIVERS FOOD AID TO MALNOURISHED CHILDREN THAT ARE IN MAROUA PRISON

Twenty-one malnourished children are forced to live in prison, where their mothers are serving prison sentences because they were linked to Boko Haram in the past. This is the dramatic situation that the Community of Sant'Egidio encountered in Maroua prison, which is located in Cameroon. These are forgotten children to whom yesterday the Community brought food aid: sugar, salt, peanuts, and other items such as soap, which is very precious in the penitentiary.

The children and their mothers felt gratitude for this gesture of help that improves the extremely precarious conditions in which they live.
