The Jubilee of Mercy in Pemba, Mozambique: Sunday 26 June, a people of the poor, elderly, sick and disabled went through the Holy Door of the cathedral accompanied by the Community of Sant'Egidio.

The pilgrims were welcomed by the Bishop of Pemba, Mons. Luiz Fernando Lisboa, who presided over a thanksgiving Mass for the Holy Year of Mercy.

During the celebration, they also prayed for Mozambique, so that peace is preserved. In fact, the country is experiencing a time of political instability, and there are those that fear a possible breach of the peace enjoyed since 1992.
