Thirst for Peace, Faiths and Cultures in Dialogue: press conference at Vatican Radio on September 13

Presentation of the International Meeting at Sala Marconi, 11:30 a.m.

Community of Sant'Egidio - Diocese of Assisi - Franciscan Families

On September 13 at 11:30 am, in the Sala Marconi of the Vatican Radio in Rome, it will be presented the international meeting "Thirst for Peace. Religions and Cultures in Dialogue" (Assisi, 18 to 20 September), organized by the Community of Sant'Egidio, by the diocese of Assisi and by the Franciscan Family. During the press conference the sense of these three days will be explained; it takes place in a historic moment for peace-building, in front of many situations of war, terrorism and widespread violence we see in the world.

There will be a presentation of the program of the meeting, which will see - together with popular adhesion growing by the day - the participation of over 450 religious leaders, representatives of the institutions and of the world of culture, both in the opening ceremony of the meeting, and in the 29 panels, and in the final ceremony. On September 20, the final day, as already announced, Pope Francis will be present.
