THE NEW SYRIAN CRISIS: AN EDITORIAL BY ANDREA RICCARDI OCTOBER 18, 2019

 Poor Syria! Another chapter of a never-ending war since 2011 has started. Poor Syrian Kurds! The semi-autonomous region in northern Syria (Rojava) is disappearing under the Turkish offensive. The Kurds and several Christians, who fled here after World War I and after the persecution that happened in the Ottoman Empire, have been escaping from Turkey. Will the world of Rojava be wiped out? It seems so if we look at what happened in the Kurdish enclave of Afrin, which was occupied by the Turks in 2018, along with Arab militias, the extremist Free Syrian Army and Qaedists.
