At the conclusion of the Conference "East and West, dialogue of civilizations", Andrea Riccardi and the Grand Imam of Al Azhar, Muhammad Al Tayyeb, along with the speakers and many participants went to the Bataclan theatre, one of the sites of the terrorist attacks of 13 November 2015, to pay tribute to the memory of the victims.

A moment of great symbolic value and of actual construction of the fabric of coexistence to which Andrea Riccardi has always devoted his energies and which saw significant participation of one of the highest offices of the Islamic world. His presence, along with that of all the participants in the conference, showed that dialogue can be translated into concrete gestures to heal those wounds that terror has opened in the coexistence between peoples and persons.

Having laid flowers at the place of the attack, Al Tayebb read a prayer. "I have suffered for the victims, for their families, for their friends. And we are very hopeful that the French people, who is free, peaceful and loving of life, will overcome this tragedy. I pray that God protect all from any evil".
