A delegation of the Community of Sant'Egidio meets the President of the Central African Republic Touadéra

DREAM program, health and work for peace among the topics of the meeting

A delegation of the Community of Sant'Egidio visited the Central African Republic to prepare the opening of the DREAM Program in the country, in collaboration with the Italian Friends of Central African Association, present in the country for about 15 years. The delegation was received by the President of the Republic Faustin-Archange Touadéra who said he was very happy with the opening of DREAM in Central Africa and offered full willingness to support its implementation. The President also thanked the founder of the Community of Sant'Egidio, Andrea Riccardi, for the international prayer meeting for the Peace of Assisi, in which he participated (his speech here).

The President also underlined the important work of Sant'Egidio for peace in the central Africa Republic and in all the African continent. He said: "Sant'Egidio is a belssing for me and for our country. In order to keep peace, we need to help the people to live in better conditions; to start from the treatment against AIDS, this is a concrete sign of your friendship and your support to peace in the country".
