INTERRELIGIOUS DIALOGUE AND PRAYER FOR PEACE MEETINGS TOOK PLACE ALSO IN IVORY COAST FOLLOWING THE SPIRIT OF ASSISI

On October 1, an interreligious prayer meeting for peace was held at the Foyer des Jeunes in Bouaké, which is Côte d'Ivoire's second-largest city. It followed on the heels of the September meeting in Assisi, which was attended by 300 individuals. The representatives of the Catholic and Protestant Churches, the Grand Mosque, leaders of local ethnic groups, and the city's civil and military chiefs also took part in the event.

Moreover, on Oct. 2, many gathered to celebrate the prayer for peace in the Spirit of Assisi at the home of the Community of Sant'Egidio in Abidjan. Several people participated in the gathering, including the Catholic nuncio, the head of the imams from all over Côte d'Ivoire as well as ambassadors and representatives of other Christian churches, associations, and local institutions.
