"Hani Fahs" Prize for the Defense of Pluralism and Conflict Resolution to Sant'Egidio

The Community of Sant'Egidio was awarded with the "Hani Fahs" Prize for the Defense of Pluralism on the 5th December in Beirut. The event was attended by a number of Lebanese and Iraqi MPs and religious representatives of every confession.

Both the Award and the Academy conferring it are named after the memory of Sayed Hani Fahs, a Shiite cleric, a man of culture and dialogue and dear friend of Sant’Egidio. Sayed Hani Fahs sadly died in 2014.

The motivation says: "Hani Fahs Award to the Community of Sant'Egidio for the Defense of Pluralism, in recognition of its role in the resolution of conflicts".
