IVORY COAST: THE CHILDREN OF THE ABIDJAN’S SHANTY TOWN PILGRIMAGED AT THE END OF THE JUBILEE

At the end of the Jubilee of Mercy, the children from the Peace Schools of the Community of Sant'Egidio pilgrimaged to the Cathedrals of Saint Paul and Saint André, which are located in Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire. More than 400 juveniles, who are coming from the most precarious slums that are situated in the neighborhoods of the economic capital of Côte d'Ivoire (e.g Boribana and Yopougon), passed through the Holy Door, communicating in this way their confidence in a better future. Hence, one can grow together in peace and respect for others even in difficult environments, which are often marked by violence. A special prayer for all the Communities of Sant'Egidio around the world and for all the Schools of Peace concluded the pilgrimage.
