On October 4, the ''Roads of Peace'' arrived in Mozambique to celebrate the 25 years of the Rome Accords.

October 4, the 25th anniversary of peace in Mozambique, was commemorated by the Communities of Sant'Egidio in various cities with interreligious meetings entitled "Roads of Peace".

The day of reflection and prayer was attended by representatives of all churches and religions present in the city of Maputo.

In their speeches, the religious leaders expressed great appreciation for the work of the Community that range from the historic peace agreement to the commitment in daily life in favor of the poorest and most needy.

Once again, the different religions condemned war and the widespread violence, and declared their common intention to work to maintain and consolidate peace in the country. There was a high rate of participation in the Youth for Peace, also in regard to the organization of the event. It was a day of unity, joy, and friendship among all those individuals who participated. The event ended with the signing of the appeal for peace and brotherly embrace.
But in many cities of Mozambique such as in Beira, Nampula, Pemba, Quelimane, and many others (of which we publish images in the photo gallery), events were held to express the joy of this anniversary.

On a beautiful sunny day, the doves of peace flew once again after 25 years over the skies of Mozambique.
