Cyclone IDAI: Sant’Egidio call support for Mozambique and Malawi

We are delivering emergency relief: food, medicine, drinking water. Everything is urgently needed

The violent cyclone which struck Malawi and Mozambique is probably the biggest natural disaster those countries ever faced. The city of Beira and other villages  vanished almost completely. A more precise death toll and the true scale of the damage is not likely to be known soon and becomes worse with every report.

The Sant’Egidio Community deeply feels the size of the tragedy. Several Communities are both in Malawi and in Mozambique. Moreover, the DREAM Center for HIV care and the Nutritional Center in Beira were seriously damaged. The slum where children and the sick people were living are totally destroyed. Sant’Egidio reacted immediately to the crisis and promptly activated a relief network in the two countries.

Please give now to help Sant’Egidio provide children and their families safe drinking water, health supplies and emergency shelter.

EVERYTHING IS NEEDED!
