Solidarity
with the victims of the seaquake in South-East Asia
Facing
the humanitarian emergency caused by the seaquake that heavily
struck the populations of many countries in South-East Asia,
the Community of Sant'Egidio has initiated a plan of
humanitarian aid addressed to the people of India and
Indonesia.
In Indonesia,
collaborating also with the Indonesian Communities of
Sant'Egidio, the Community will distribute indispensable
articles (food, clothes, drugs) in order to face the
humanitarian emergency in the region of Aceh, where the
highest number of victims was reported.
In India humanitarian aid will be
devoted to the reconstruction of a village in the region of
Tamil Nadu, also heavily struck by the seaquake.
