"Amici rock band"

The rock band of the movement of ‘the Friends’ in Rome is made up of ten members, of whom eight are physically or mentally disabled.
The leader of the group is also its guitarist, while the others each play one or more pieces of a drum kit divided into its component parts as well as various other percussion instruments (cow-bells, cymbals, ride-cymbals, tubular bells). A sound technician is also part of the group.
The band’s repertory consists of pieces taken from Italian and international rock music with clear and sustained rhythms.

Each member specialises in playing one instrument. Arranged in a horseshoe around the leader/conductor so as to be able to see him continuously and understand his gestures, some play backing instruments such as the drums, the hi-hat, and the cow-bell; others, instruments that accompany or underline different moments of the piece or conclude it.

Over the years the band has perfected the methods and style of performing music.
To this one can add the satisfaction for everyone of having realised a common dream: to express one’s feelings through music and to communicate them to others.
