The plane landed at Fiumicino Airport at 7 o'clock this morning, with the families of Syrian refugees on board that, thanks to the humanitarian corridors, had crossed the Mediterranium safely. They come from Homs, Aleppo, Hama and Hassaka, near the Iraqi border, not far from Mosul. Among them a family that fled from Iraq.

This is the second group of refugees reaching Italy through the humanitarian corridors, the project enabled by the Community of Sant'Egidio, the Federation of Evangelical Churches in Italy and the Waldensian Table, in cooperation with the Ministries of the Interior and Foreign Affairs.

Many children, on their arrival, immediately started playing, happy to have arrived in Italy, their new home.
