Humanitarian crisis in South Sudan: envoys of the European Union, England and Norway to Sant'Egidio

Representatives of the troika, Chris Trott, Erling Skjonberg and Irene Panozzo, political advisor to the EU spokesperson for the Horn of Africa, with Sally Axworthy, UK ambassador to the Holy See, visited the Community of Sant'Egidio to discuss the present situation in South Sudan, facing a serious political and humanitarian crisis.
 
Among the different points of discussion, the High level Revitalization Forum - currently the main international mediation initiative and the coming negotiation rounds under the auspices of IGAD and African Union.
 
The special envoys expressed their profound interest in a greater involvement of Sant'Egidio in the South-Sudanese crisis.
