In our last newsletter we invited you to sign the appeal “There is No Future without the Elderly”, to for a moral uprising to change the direction of selective health care for the elderly, and express our sorrow and grave concern at the too many deaths of older people in the Covid-19 pandemic. It is a battle of civilization we deeply care about, whose outcome depends so much on the world we want to build after the global pandemic.

A world respecting the dignity of the elderly is part of the “integral ecology” to which Pope Francis invited us with the “Laudato si”, to contrasts the culture of waste concerning both people and our common home. For this reason we are delighted to inform you Sant'Egidio has been officially recognized as “Plastic free” organization.

Moreover, we invite you to look at the images and listen to the words of the Youth for Peace, who have joined the global movement arisen in recent days to counter racism and reaffirm the value of life, with a flashmob inspired by the words of Martin Luther King “We must learn to live together as brothers or we will perish together as fools”.
