OCTOBER 4 IS PEACE DAY IN MOZAMBIQUE: IT IS CELEBRATED WITH AN INTERFAITH CEREMONY IN MAPUTO. IT WILL BE STREAMED AT 4.30 P.M

The peace treaty, which ended the long and bloody war that had swept through Mozambique in the aftermath of independence, was signed in Rome on October 4, 1992. This happened thanks to the mediation of the Community of Sant'Egidio.

Sant'Egidio has been the name of peace for 29 years in Mozambique.

A peace that everyone needs. For this reason, again this year, the 29th anniversary is being celebrated with an interfaith ceremony in front of Maputo Cathedral.

The event will be live-streamed on the Sant'Egidio Lusofonia Facebook page and this website.
