GIUSTIZIATI TRE TRAFFICANTI DI BAMBINI

PECHINO,  - Due uomini e una donna sono stati messi a morte oggi in Cina perche' riconosciuti colpevoli di aver venduto 11 bambini.

    L'esecuzione - ha precisato l'agenzia Buova Cina - e' avvenuta nella citta' di Kunming, nella provincia sudoccidentale dello Yunnan.

   La donna, di 38 anni, e uno dei due uomini, di 24, hanno rapito tra il 2001 e il 2003 bambini i bambini - di 2-3 anni - nei villaggi del distretto di Huize, per poi venderli al terzo trafficante per una somma compresa tra i 2.400 e i 3.500 yuan (290 e 422 dollari) ciascuno.

   Secondo fonti della polizia, sette degli 11 bambini sono stati ritrovati, mentre i restanti quattro risultano ancora dispersi.    Nell'ambito dell'attivita' di repressione del fiorente traffico di bambini, le autorita' avevano scoperto lo scorso anno nella provincia di Guangxi, ai confini con lo Yunnan, 38 neonate, nascoste dentro sacchi con braccia e gambe legate.

    Nel marzo scorso la polizia cinese aveva annunciato che 42.215 tra donne e bambini rapiti in Cina dal 2001 erano stati ritrovati e liberati. In luglio, inoltre, 95 membri di una banda operante nella Mongolia interna erano stati arrestati per la compravendita di 76 bambini.

    Secondo il Fondo dell'Onu per l'infanzia (Unicef), circa 250,000 donne e bambini sono state vittime del traffico di persone in Cina nell'ultimo anno.

China Executes 3 for Abducting Boys

2 men and a woman were executed in southwestern China on Friday for abducting and selling 11 boys ages 2 and 3, a news report said.

The executions were carried out in Kunming, a city in Yunnan province, where the boys were abducted between 2001 and 2003, the official Xinhua News Agency said. It said several other people convicted in the case were sentenced to prison terms ranging from 6 years to life.

The case comes amid a crackdown in China that has brought lengthy prison terms and a handful of death sentences for people convicted of selling scores of children.

Thousands of children are believed to be bought or abducted every year in China for sale to families that want more children, a servant or a future bride for an only son.

Xinhua identified those executed in the latest case as Yu Mingfen, a 38-year-old woman; Ren Shunbo, 24, and Ning Dewan.

Yu and Ren were convicted of abducting the boys from several villages and selling them to Ning, who resold them to other traffickers, the report said, citing Zhu Zhengyu, the judge in the case.

The boys eventually were sold for $1,300 each, Xinhua said.

It said 7 boys were recovered but 4 were still missing.
