On the 20th anniversary of the end of last Balkans War, the Community of Sant'Egidio in cooperation with the Albanian Bishops' Conference, the Orthodox Autocephalous Church of Albania, and the Government of Albania promotes the 28th International Meeting for Peace which will be held in Tirana between the 6th and the 8th of September 2015.
In these complex and difficult times we are living, representatives of the Christian Churches and leaders of the great World Religions will gather in Tirana to dialogue and pray for peace: they will bring the spirit of Assisi to Albania. On the next September Tirana will be the capital of peace in Europe and in the entire World.
On the coming February 24th the event will be presented by Mr. Erion Veliaj, Minister of Social Welfare and Youth; Mr. Marco Impagliazzo, President of the Community of Sant'Egidio; Mr. Andon Merdani, Bishop of the Orthodox Autocephalous Church of Albania; Mr. Lucjan Avgustini, Bishop of the Catholic Church of Albania.
