A delegation of the Community of Sant'Egidio, with President Marco Impagliazzo, had a series of meetings in Washington DC with members of the American administration with regard to the activities for peace and in favor of the resolution of conflicts, particularly in Africa . During the talks have also been addressed issues related to the development of the BRAVO program for legal registration of children in Africa, the fight against youth violence in Central America and new and effective policies for Immigration and the Roma Population in Europe.
The meetings were held in the offices of the White House and State Department. Among the personalities encountered: the Counsellor for Religious Affairs of President Obama, Pastor Joshua DuBois, the Undersecretary for Democracy and Global Affairs, Maria Otero, the Assistant Secretary for Africa Johnnie Carson, the Special Representative for global partnership, Kris Balderston. |
