A young woman conversing with an elderly, sick man who receives a visit, a prisoner who looks at the world from his cell, a disabled artist intent on painting, a senior and a stranger together, representatives of different faiths and denominations, in the spirit of Assisi: all of them are in the nativity scene in the church of Sant'Egidio. They represent the faces and stories of many poor friends that we met in these 45 years of friendship, service and prayer. All around Mary and Joseph, because the Lord is born among the poor.
