Wednesday 11th April, 5 pm, at the Lazzati Foundation, Largo Corsia dei Servi 4, Milan. The Community of Sant’Egidio has organized a meeting: "The Romany in everybody’s city. The Church and intolerance towards itinerant people", based on the paper “Orientations for a pastoral policy towards the Gypsies”, of the Pontifical Council for the Pastoral Care of Migrants and Itinerant People. The meeting, which arises from a background of growing intolerance towards itinerants, wants to open an exchange of views on topics such as the presence of Romany in cities, and maintaining public order. The themes will be approached from the perspective of the human, social, cultural and religious rights and freedoms appertaining to these citizens. Introductory Address: Elisabetta Cimoli (Community of Sant’Egidio); Report: Mgr. Agostino Marchetto (Secretary of the Pontifical Council for the Pastoral Care of Migrants and Itinerant People).
