The “Arnold-Janssen" International Prize for Peace was awarded to the Community of Sant'Egidio on Friday January 16th during an international conference titled "Peace- Utopia in a Globalized Society?".
The prize was established last year in memory of Arnold Janssen, founder of the Missionaries of the Divine Verb, by his native city, Goch, in North Western Germany.
The Community has been chosen as first recipient of the prize, that is meant as a recognition of the work for peace and co-exhistence among peoples. The "laudatio" was made by the Bishop of Aachen Msgr. Henrich Mussinghoff. |
