The Conference “Living and spreading the Gospel in XXI century”, held in Jakarta last 1st, 2nd and 3rd July, gathered thanks to the Community of Sant’Egidio’s initiatives, priests, prelates and nuns coming from several region of the archipelagos, together with ten bishops of the Indonesian Episcopal Conference.
Several aspects were covered during the Conferences, related to how to spread the Gospel in a country where there are a range of cultural and religious differences.
More in detail, the relevance of the Church as family of poor, the eldest, the homeless, the children not registered and often abused, was underlined in a world where the economic growth enhances inequalities.
